This is an array of 6 Devels Horse Rooters. 1. Snake Head in in uncataloged color – Yellow w/Black Spots; 2. Razorback Rooter in White w/Black Stripes; 3. S-400 Devels Horse Rooter in uncataloged color – Yellow/Gold Scale w/Black Back; 4. Uncataloged lure and color – Devels Horse Rooter using F-100 body and rear hook on the belly – color Black w/Spots in Red, Green, White; 5. Un-cataloged lure in Shad. Devels Horse Rooter using F-100 body with rear hook coming directly out the back; 6. Uncataloged lure and color. Devels Horse Rooter using F-200 body in Yellow w/Black Spots. The only lure missing from this array is the Well Digger which was the first of the Rooter line.

S-700 (A-400) Snake Head
The Snake Head was available in 1961. It used the numbers S-700 and A-400

A-400 Snake Head - Color: Black. 2 piece box. They apparently used both the number A-400 and S-700 for this lure at different times. In 1962 it was S-700.

S-400 (B-400) Razorback Rooter
This lure is only shown on the 1958 chart. S-400 Razorback Rooter. In 1960 a new Rooter is shown on the chart. It is the S-400 Devels Horse Rooter and uses the Devels Horse Dance blank. The Razorback Rooter also used the number B-400
The Razorback Rooter is only shown in the 1958 chart.It is listed as S-400. (some boxes have been found showing the Razorback Rooter also used the number B-400) Two years later in 1960 they list a S-400 Rooter but it uses a different blank (the Dancer blank). Then about 10 years later they have a new Rooter listed as C-700 Devils Horse Rooter. It uses the Razorback Rooter blank. It was produced until the early 1980's.
S-400 (B-400) Razorback Rooter - This lure is only shown on the 1958 chart. S-400 Razorback Rooter. In 1960 a new rooter is shown on the chart. It is the S-400 DEVELS Horse Rooter and uses the Devels Horse Dancer blank. The Razorback Rooter also used the number B-400.
B-408 DEVELS Horse Rooter. A Razorback Rooter was found in the box. The lure was in the color Shad.

S-400 Rooter - White with Black Stripes. It came in a 1" box stamped S-410 DEVELS Horse Rooter.
Rooter – F-700 Dancer Blank (S-400)
The S-400 Devels Horse Rooter uses the Devels Horse Dancer blank. It shows up on only the 1960 chart.
S-400 DEVELS Horse Rooter - This lure only shows up on the 1960 chart. It uses the Dancer blank. Two years earlier a different Rooter carrier this number (S-400 Razorback Rooter). The Rooter in the picture is in the color Perch. As you can see the box is stamped S-409 Devels Horse Rooter.

Rooter – F-100 Blank
We don’t have a number for this rooter. It used the same blank as the F-100 DEVELS Horse Floater. This rooter came in two styles. One with the rear hook coming directly out of the rear of the body. The second one has the rear hook on the bottom at the rear of the lure. These are uncharted lures.
DEVELS Horse Rooter - using the F-100 blank. Uncharted lure 1956-1963. This lure was found in the 1" box stamped B-408. The rear hook comes directly out the back instead of off the bottom. Not sure it is the correct box for this lure. The lure is in Shad and stamped: DEVELS Horse Rooter.

Rooter – F-200 Blank – C-1500
The C-1500 Devels Horse Rooter uses the same blank as the F-200 Devels Horse Floater. This is an uncharted lure.
This shows the F-400 Rooter (Dancer Blank), Rooter (F-100 Blank) , C-1500 Rooter (F-200 Blank).
It uses the same wood body as the F-200 Devels Horse Floater (4"). It comes in the uncataloged color Yellow with Black Spots. We are showing the F-200 Devels Horse Floater (With the spinners on each end) so you can get a better idea of the size.
