Top-N-Bottom Box. This was the first box used by Jack Smithwick. He used this box for all the lures. I believe they were in use from 1947 - 1950 to 1952. This box is 1 1/4" high x 4 1/2" long.

This box came out after the Top-N-Bottom box which was 4 1/2' long. When they started making the Devels Horse lures they needed a longer box. They used this box up to about 1957 and then the size was changed. They went to a box the same width and length but only 1" high. They used this 1" high box for the Devels series until about 1962 and then used it for the Devils series to about 1963. It was replaced by the one peice cardboard box with the hard plastic top.

This box came out after the two piece cardboard box. My guess is in late 1963 or 1964. It was short lived.

One piece cardboard box with hard plastic top. This box has a heavy paper insert indicating "Sinker" at each end.

The shrink wrap came out after the one piece box with the flex top and or the one piece box with the full flex plastic sleeve. The shrink wrap started in the late 1960's and lasted until about 1973.

The hang tab use added to the basic shrink wrap box to allow them to be displayed on peg hooks. The changed to the the red card bubble pack card in about 1973.
